Treble Trouble

 

‘Treble Trouble’ is a Kane International movie made by George Harrison-Marks (GHM) in late 1990.  I have never seen the entire movie; I don’t know of any company that is still selling the DVD or video tape and I haven’t been able to find this movie on any video-on-demand site.

I have a folder of videos that I’ve found on-line that look like they could be GHM movies.  Two of the movies in that folder have similar title cards that read “No. 2 Trouble with a Female Offspring” and “No. 3 Trouble with the Accused”.  I couldn’t identify the source of these 2 videos but, when I working on the filmographies for Kara-Jayne Dempsey and Suzi Jarman, I stumbled across a list of movies in the ‘Spanking Arts Wiki’ article for Larry Barnes and one of the movies listed was:

I recognized ‘Triple Trouble’ as the title (as I knew it then) of a Kane International movie that I had never seen and ‘Trouble with the Accused’ was the title of one of the videos that I had found on-line.  I eventually managed to track down a copy of Kane magazine issue 56, the first issue from 1991, that includes a photospread and two articles based on ‘Treble Trouble’ which turns out to be the actual name of the movie rather than ‘Triple Trouble’.  ‘Treble Trouble’ consists of three parts:

No. 1  Trouble with the Butler;

No. 2  Trouble with a Female Offspring; and

No. 3  Trouble with the Accused.

 

I don’t know much about the first segment called ‘Trouble with the Butler” but Suzi Martell wrote a paragraph that accompanies three photos at the beginning of the magazine in which she says she plays a butler-cum-maid who has created problems at a dinner party.  This leads to her punishment by the lady of the house who she says is played by her “real-life sister Maria”.  I don’t know anything else about the first segment of ‘Treble Trouble’.

The second part, ‘Trouble with a Female Offspring”, is slightly less than 19-minutes long.  Kane 56 has a photostory based on the “Trouble with a Female Offspring” segment and there is also a description of the making of that segment in a column called ‘Piper’s Piece’.  According to ‘Piper’s Piece’ the woman in this segment, Marilyn, had never made a spanking movie before and she didn’t know what to expect.  Watching the rushes from the third segment (with Larry Barnes and Suzi Martell) before the shooting didn’t help.  She did get through the scene but, based on the description of the shooting in the column, I doubt she ever made another spanking movie.

The segment opens with a father and daughter at breakfast (three photos from this segment are shown in the ad at the top of this post).  He is opening the mail which includes a large credit card bill.  His daughter has overspent on a watch, jewelry and clothing and her father is upset.  She is wearing the clothes so he orders her to take them all off and then punishes her, starting with a long over the knee spanking then continuing with a flogger before finishing with six with the cane.  The scene ends with her standing naked in the corner.

The third part, ‘Trouble with the Accused”, is slightly more than 19-minutes long. 

In this part, Larry Barnes plays a judge, Suzi Martell plays the defendant and GHM plays a lawyer who is heard but never seen.  I’ve never been a fan of Martell’s work but most of what I’ve seen comes from her later work where she had a look that was described as ‘heroin chic’ that I don’t find the slightest bit attractive (that look didn’t actually require a person to be a heroin user, just to look like they were one).  This movie is one of her earliest works and she was actually quite an attractive woman at that time.

The Judge seems quite unimpressed by the case laid before him and he decides to adjourn the court and retire to chambers to discuss the matter further.  In chambers with the defendant, he describes the case as a childish matter that deserves a childish punishment and that is exactly what he decides to give her.  He sentences her to a spanking on the first count, a tawsing on the second count and a severe caning on the third count of the charges. 

She starts out over his knee for the spanking.  Her squeals during the spanking are a bit
over-exaggerated and the Judge soon decides that a change is required so her skirt goes up and her spanking continues on the bare.  The spanking lasts until near the midpoint of the movie then they move on to the second count.  Her dress and blouse come off and she kneels on a stool for the tawse which takes just over 2 minutes.  Her bra comes off for the third count.  She kneels on the stool again for 30 strokes of the cane.  Afterward, he takes her back into court to dismiss the case.

The last scene is the better of the two I have although the lighting is a little dark.  The second scene has its moments but it is little more than interesting fluff.  I haven’t been able to find the first segment, ‘Trouble with the Butler’, but I would love to see it.  Please leave a comment if you know where I could find it.

 

Caught & Caned: The Burglar

 

‘Caught & Caned: The Burglar’ (40 minutes) in a Moonglow movie that was probably made about 2005.  It was packaged together with an older movie ‘Jenny’s Audition’ and released on DVD (Moonglow DVD Catalogue no. C35) in 2005.  The DVD was also released by 6666 Productions.  The Moonglow DVD of ‘Caught & Caned: The Burglar’ and ‘Jenny’s Audition’ is currently available on DVD from Roue Productions (www.roue.com) and from www.hotmovies.com and other video-on-demand services.  The 6666 Productions version is available from Hotmovies which lists this movie as being 64-minutes long but I have that version and it is only 57-minutes (more about that later).

‘Caught & Caned: The Burglar’ features Tom Cooper (Peter Carothers), Sara Benachour (Angela King, Peter’s mistress) and Nicky Montford (Daniella, the burglar).  I have read that there is a connection between ‘Caught & Caned: The Burglar’ and the Moonglow/Top Marks co-production ‘The Wicked Kane Club’ (Moonglow DVD Catalogue no. C38, Top Marks TM-31) and that Tom Cooper and Sara Benachour play the same characters in that later movie (more about that later as well).

‘The Burglar’ opens with Peter and Angela, a couple who obviously incorporate spanking into their sex life, preparing to go out for dinner.  Angela starts teasing Peter that she has a ‘cold bottom’ and he obliges her by giving her a hand spanking followed by a hair brush paddling that includes a few swats with the bristle side.  This opening segment last about 8-1/2 minutes.

They go out to dinner and return to find a burglar in their apartment.  Daniella, the burglar, has been
able to break into the apartment through the bathroom window that was left open by Angela.  They capture the burglar and decide to take her to their playroom where they give her the usual choice, corporal punishment or arrest.  Of course, she chooses the corporal punishment.  Peter orders her to undress and the punishment that follows consists of a hand spanking followed by 25 strokes of the cane, followed by 6 on her hands after which she starts to dress.  She has a few comments before leaving which lead to another 20 strokes through her pants.  The final few strokes, while she is bent over, seem particularly hard.  He sends her away after her punishment is complete.

After Daniella leaves, Peter returns to Angela who is waiting for him in the bedroom.  She is has piled the comforter and pillows at the end of the bed and she is lying across them waiting for her punishment.  Peter gives her 25 strokes of the cane, some are quite hard but one is wild, and then the couple embrace and fall into bed together.

I have two copies of this movie.  One is the 6666 Productions version purchased through Hotmovies and the other is a bootleg downloaded off the internet.  The two are virtually the same length (only 2 seconds different), and both have a ‘BFI’ bug, but there are significant differences between them.  The most significant is that the purchased version lacks the hand caning scenes.  I noted above that the 6666 Productions version of the DVD available from the video on demand sites is listed as being 7 minutes longer than the Moonglow International version.  Four minutes of that difference is in 'Jenny's Audition' but something still doesn’t seem right.  The 6666 Productions version of 'Caught & Caned: The Burglar' should still be 3 minutes longer but it isn't.  Plus, it is missing the hand caning.  I’m not convinced that the version on Hotmovies is the full 6666 Productions version.  On the other hand, the bootleg version that I have has a sound synchronization issue which makes it difficult to watch it it must be missing some other scenes to compensate for the additional length of the hand caning scene.

Regardless of which version you watch this movie suffers from poor production values.  The rooms used as the sets are small and seem to be sparsely furnished and the choice of camera positions leaves much to be desired.  The dialogue is simple and uninspired although Nicky Montford does liven it up in places.  The action is good but the movie is simply too ‘bare bones’ to be really enjoyable.  I decided to review this movie because of reports I read that said this movie and a later Monnglow movie ‘The Wicked Cane Club’ were related.  I’ll talk about that in my next post.

Dinner of Just Desserts

‘Dinner of Just Desserts’ is a 38-minute movie produced by Archive Video, which may be related to Strictly English, about 1999.  The movie features Ivor Gold, Kara-Jayne Dempsey, Suzi Jarman, a black woman called ‘Pam’ and four others, one of whom I recognize but can’t identify.  This movie is hard to find but the DVD is currently available from www.belrose.eu.

I recently posted filmographies for both Kara-Jayne Dempsey and Suzi Jarman.  Neither would be described as a ‘leading figure’ among British spanking movie actresses but both made some good movies, both were featured in a movie that is one of my personal favorites (‘Teacher’s Folly’ and ‘Spanking the Teacher’ respectively) and both appeared in ‘Dinner of Just Desserts’ which I have been researching recently when I was looking for the dates of the movies that they made.

There are two questions that I still trying to answer about ‘Dinner of Just Desserts’: who made it, and when?

First, who made it?  I first found this movie, divided into 8 parts, on Spanking TV a dozen or so years ago.  The now defunct Spanking TV website is archived on the Internet Wayback Machine and a section of the listing for ‘Dinner of Just Desserts’ is below.

That listing gives the producer as ‘Archive Video’ as does the DVD that I bought from Belrose more recently, but I’ve never heard of Archive Video and I can’t find any information about the company on the internet.  I’ve seen several sources that say this is a Strictly English movie.  That could be true but I’m not sure because I haven’t been able to find it on any list of Strictly English movies.  On the other hand, the Strictly English page on the Spanking Art Wiki says:

Strictly English is a British spanking video producer in business since 1995. … In its early years, the studio had a close relationship with Red Stripe, using some of the same actors and sets in similar scenarios (e.g., Good Girl, Bad Girl and Bare Bottom Punishment).

‘Dinner of Just Desserts’ features Ivor Gold, the owner of Red Stripe, along with Kara-Jayne Dempsey who appeared in three Red Stripe movies made in 1998 & 99.  The setting also looks like something you might see in a Red Stripe movie.  So, maybe ‘Archive Video’ does have some relationship to Strictly English.

So, when was it made?  The best clue is the presence of Ivor Gold.  He was killed March 1, 2001 when he surprised a burglar in his London apartment so it can’t be any later than that.  Ivor’s filmography on the Spanking Art Wiki lists this movie with a date of ‘circa 1999’.  That’s the best I can find and it seems reasonable, given that Kara-Jayne was working with Red Stripe in ‘98 & ‘99 and I can’t find anything to suggest that Suzi Jarman made any spanking movies prior to ’99 so I’m going with the 1999 date.

‘Dinner of Just Desserts’ opens with eight friends at a dinner party.  The party guests around the table (above) from the lower left are:

Louise, the accomplice (Pam);

Roger:

Rita (with a tattoo on her arm);

Angela, his cheating wife (Kara-Jayne Dempsey);

Nigel (in the red shirt);

Alison (Suzi Jarman);

Steve (Ivor Gold); and

The aggrieved husband just visible on the lower right (a familiar face but I don’t know his name).

The host surprises the guests when he announces that his wife (Angela) has been having an affair and she has been added in covering up the affair by a friend who is at the party (Louise).  He goes on to say that Angela and Louise have agreed to be punished and he wants his dinner guests to assist him in the punishment.  Steve is definitely up for this but Alison is reluctant; this dynamic will continue throughout the movie.  The other three all agree to participate and Rita seems to be the most enthusiastic.

The punishments begin with Angela and Louise bending over the end of the table for a hand spanking from each guest in turn.  The first round is six slaps from each person but the number starts to increase as the process goes on.  The order is always the husband first followed by Steve, Alison, Roger, Rita and Nigel.  The second round is to be six more slaps with the other hand but this quickly breaks down and the spanking become much longer as time goes on.

Next comes the strap.  Angela and Pam are still bent over the table but their panties are now off and each guest delivers six swats with a leather strap.  The fourth round continues with the strap but the positions change.  Angela is first and she is on the table in the diaper position for another round with the strap but she can’t hold this position so she changes into lying on the table part way through.  Louise follows her but she is lying on the table from the beginning.

After the strap comes the cane.  Angela is told to undress and each guest gives her six strokes.  Again, Alison is reluctant and her strokes are noticeably lighter than anyone else’s.  Louise is next, same routine but she is crying by the end of the caning and Alison comforts her throughout.  The movie ends with the 8 friends back at the dinner table, with Angela and Louise still nude, and all the unpleasantness seems to be completely forgotten.

Even though I had the 8 parts of this movie from Spanking TV, I hadn’t watched this movie for many years until I bought the DVD.  Then I rediscovered how much I like it, in no small part because the story is so different from most other spanking movies.  I’ve read reviews that complain about Suzi Jarman’s light strokes during the punishment scenes.  I’ve seen her in other movies where she delivers a much harder caning, although it’s clear she isn’t an experienced top, since her strokes can be wild, so I think it was a deliberate choice to have one reluctant participant among the group and I think that works.  The technical work is good although this does look like a movie that was originally recorded on videotape and then digitized later, but before the tapes had begin to deteriorate.  But more than anything else, it is the concept that makes this movie work for me.  At this moment, I can’t think of any other movie that has a ‘spanking party’ concept like this one and I wish there were more like it.
