Rebel at St. Angela's

 

 

“Rebel at St. Angela’s” is a 17-and-a-half-minute movie released by Roue in early 1982.  It is one of five movies advertised in a movie list on pages 2 and 63 of Roue 22; the other four are Room 2D (more from St. Angela’s), The Tutor’s New Pupil, Video Verite and After Hours.  The movie is usually called Rebel at St. Angela’s but the title card on the version I have (which looks like a later addition) actually reads Rebels (plural) at St. Angela’s.  This movie is currently available on DVD through the Roue website at www.roue.com.  It is also currently available on XHamster.com at http://xhamster.com/videos/rebel-at-st-angela-s-xhFIvNS.

This movie has a cast of three; one man, the Headmaster, and two women who play the teacher Miss Padgett and a student named Jennifer.  Jennifer looks like Virginia, the field hockey captain from Four O’clock Report.  Miss Padgett is played by the same woman who plays Head Girl Gilly Norton in the Janus St. Winfred’s Trilogy.  The first issue of Encore Janus is devoted to the making of the St. Winifred’s trilogy and it describes the casting of Head Girl Norton saying that producer Peter Lucas …

“… first approached many of the models that had recently appeared in the pages of Janus.  A few months earlier he had met a young woman who had come into the Janus office with her husband.  She had wanted to appear in Janus dressed as a schoolgirl and she eventually did so on the front cover of Janus 12.   During the conversation that took place she disclosed that she actually had been a Head Girl at the highly prestigious Roedean boarding school.  Peter remembered this and created the role of ‘Head Girl Norton’ for her which she performed with distinction.”

In addition to the St. Winifred’s Trilogy and Rebel at St. Angela’s, which were both made in 1982, I have also seen suggestions that ‘Miss Padgett’ appears in Four O’clock Report.  I couldn’t find any evidence to support that until I recently saw her photos from Janus 12.  Those convinced me that she actually was Charlotte in Four O’clock Report (with a very different hairstyle).  

Finally, I also read a tweet from @whiteanklesock1 with a clip from this movie of the Headmaster spanking Jennifer that is captioned:

“Michael giving Suzie a spanking before his wife Gilly Norton, Miss Pagett, gives her the cane.”

I assume that means Michael and Suzie are the names of the actors playing the Headmaster and Jennifer respectively.  I can’t vouch for the accuracy of this information but I have no reason to doubt it either. 

The background to this movie is that a student named Jennifer has sent an unflattering letter to the school’s Board of Governor accusing Miss Padgett, a teacher at the school, of some kind of misconduct.  The movie opens with Jennifer waiting in room that has a notice entitled ‘Girls Awaiting Punishment’ posted on the wall.  Jennifer complies with the instructions by pulling up her skirt and pulling down her panties while she awaits Miss Padgett’s arrival.  While she stands waiting beside an old fashioned school desk with a cane on a stand next to it, she rubs her bottom and her mind flashes back to the bare bottom spanking she has already received from the School’s headmaster.  It is clearly intended to appear to be a lengthy spanking but it is seen in snippets totaling only about a minute and the camera work is disappointing.

Miss Padgett arrives about 3-1/2 minutes into the movie and, after a few lines of dialogue, Jennifer is over the desk.  She complains that she has already been spanked by the Headmaster but Miss Padgett is having none of it.  She says that there will be one stroke for every line of the letter and she estimates that there were about 40 lines in the very long letter.  The caning begins at about the 6-minute mark of the movie.  The strokes are firm to hard and they are delivered at a leisurely pace and she teases Jennifer with the cane throughout.  There is some conversation between the strokes but the dialogue is occasionally difficult to hear.

Toward the end of the caning Miss Padgett decides that Jennifer should write a 'nice, long letter' of apology to the Chairman of the School’s Board retracting her accusations and Jennifer agrees.  A final hard stroke of the cane seals the agreement (I might have liked to see a final flurry of a few quick strokes) and then Jennifer sits at the desk and begins to write the letter.  Miss Padgett warns Jennifer that the Board Chair will probably send her back for further punishment after they receive the retraction and the movie ends.

I like this movies and the caning scene with
Jennifer and Miss Padgett is one of the best I can recall.  The spanking scenes with the Headmaster are routine and they don’t add much to the movie.  The set is sparse and there are some flaws with the camera work, particularly during the spanking scenes.  There are minor sound issues throughout the movie but that may be a result of aging of the videotape.  The color is also slightly ‘off’ and, again, that may be a result of videotape aging. 

 

Four O'clock Report

 

“Four O’clock Report” is a 14-minute movie released by Roue in early 1982.  The release was announced in Roue 21 with two-page spread on pages 60 & 61.  It was original released on two videotapes, at a price of 45 pounds each or 70 pounds for the pair, and Roue movies were sold to members through the RAM Bookstore in London or by mail.  This movie is currently available on DVD through the Roue website at www.roue.com.

The two pictures shown in the announcement don't come from the movie but they are pictures of one of the women in the movie.  The text printed in yellow on the second page of the release announcement reads:

Four O’clock report is an enticing video playlet packed in two parts, each complete in itself, and the two tapes together form a unique insight into the disciplinary system employed at Roue’s fictional St. Angela’s School.

Stories set at St. Angela’s School appeared in a number of issues of Roue.  Four O’clock Report was the first of several movies that were set at St. Angela’s School but Room 2D and First Week of Term, Parts 1&2 were released soon afterward.

The movie has a cast of 5.  One man who I recognize, but I don’t know his name, plays the headmaster and four women, none of whom I recognize, play students at St. Angela’s School.  

UPDATE:  I've been researching my next post and I'm starting to believe that Charlotte is played by Head Girl Gilly Norton from the Janus St. Winifred's Trilogy movies, more about that soon.

 The movie opens with three women dressed in school uniforms discussing whether the headmaster will be in a good mood or a bad mood.  They are soon joined by a fourth student who isn’t in uniform.  The sound isn’t clear so it is sometimes difficult to understand what they are saying.  After about a minute-and-a-half, the door opens and the Headmaster calls Charlotte (siting on the table) into his office.  Inside he gets right to the point.  He lifts her skirt, pulls down her panties and picks up one of his slippers.  The girls outside the office hear her whimpering while the Headmaster give her a vigorous slippering.  At the end of her punishment he makes Charlotte stand bare-bottom so he can admire his handiwork.  He tells her to send in the new girl as she leaves.  The scene with Charlotte lasts about 3-1/2 minutes.

The new girl is Linda (dark hair in a school uniform) and it is her first day at the school.  There is a brief discussion during which the Headmaster makes it clear that it really doesn’t matter what she has, or hasn’t done, it will be the cane for her on her first day regardless.  He has her bend over his desk, skirt up and panties down, and he gives her a quick hard caning.  There is an awkward edit so her departure is very abrupt but, once again he has her send in the next girl as she leaves.

The blonde Virginia is next.  She obviously knows the drill because she starts to remove her skirt as soon as she enters the office.  She is captain of the school field hockey team and her punishment is the result of a lopsided defeat in their most recent game.  She bends over the chair for a nasty caning.  It is delivered on an angle from above so that the end of the cane strikes her thighs rather than her buttocks.  After the caning the Headmaster also has her stand so he can examine the results of his work.  She is also told to send in the next girl as she leaves but time is getting short and the movie ends just as the last girl goes into the office.

So, what happened to the last girl’s punishment?  This movie is available on DVD on the Roue website but all five of the pictures on the DVD liner (as shown at the top) are from the parts of the movie that I have seen. I know this movie was originally released in two parts.  Clips4Sale currently offers two movies that are called ‘Four O’clock Report, Part 1’ and ‘Four O’clock Report, Part 2’ (7 minutes and 8 minutes respectively) but the description and vidcaps make it clear that these are included in the 14-minute movie that I have.  None of the reviews of this movie that I have been able to find contain any description of the fourth girl’s punishment and I haven’t seen any vidcaps from that punishment anywhere.  I have come to believe that the last girl’s punishment was either never filmed or not released for some reason.  I would love to hear from anyone who knows anything more about this missing sequence.

This movie is not as good as many of the other earlier Roue movies and it lacks many of the touches that are common the Roue and Blushes movies that were directed by Roue editor Alan Bell.  Neither does he appear in the movie as he often does and this make me think that it may have been directed by someone else.  Furthermore, time has not been kind to the original videotape, both the picture and sound have lost their sharpness and there is a lot of noise in both.  The movie is worth seeing if you are interested in the history of the Roue movies but otherwise it is something of a disappointment.

Twenty-Five for the Road

A compilation of 25 of my favorite spanking movies.

I do a great deal of travel on business, or I did before COVID, but I’m hoping life may return to something resembling normal later this year.  Depending on where I’m going, I often take a USB drive with a collection of movies to watch in the hotel and I have just been updating that collection.  I have posted lists of the movies I take before but I have changed a number of them over the past few years so here is my current list of 25.  I won’t claim that these are the ‘best’ spanking movies but they are the ones that stand out in my memory, for one reason or another, and that I am likely to rewatch when there is nothing on TV.  The list is in alphabetical order and some entries consist of two or more closely related movies rather than a single movie .  When only one of a series of movies is listed (for example, the RGE/Lupus movie Tales of Sin City, Part 1) that is because it is the only part that I would watch again.

1.    100 Strokes of the Lash - Amanda (Whipping-Films.com) 

Whipping-Films.com was an American company that made simple movies in a basement studio.  I like many of them but this is the one that always stands out in my memory.  Unfortunately, Whipping-Films.com is gone and the movies are hard to find.  This one is available through my filmography.

2.    A Victorian Maid (Spanking for Pleasure)

A SfP movie from December 2000.  I like most of the movie but I often skip the final segment.  This movies includes one of the best scenes with a school birch that I can remember.   

3.    American Girl, English Cane (Strictly English)

An early Strictly English movie.  I had heard about this movie for years but I didn’t see it until I bought a copy of the DVD a few years ago.  This is one movie that completely deserves it’s reputation, a must see.

 

 

 

 

4.    Barn Whippings, More Barn Whippings & Naked Barn Whippings (Nu-West/Leda)

Barn Whipping’ (FCV-105), More Barn Whippings (FCV-107) and Naked Barn Whippings (FCV-114) are three Nu-West/Leda videos that share a common setting and concept.  There is no date on Barn Whippings but the date on More Barn Whipping is 2006 and the date on Naked Barn Whippings is 2009.  They are so similar that you might suspect that they were filmed at the same time but Ed does look slightly in the last of the three.

 

5.    Caned Before College (Spanking for Pleasure)

A SfP movie from around 2000 that is also called 'Caned Before School'.  The major attraction for me is the girl.  She made one other movie for SfP called 'Punishment Squad'.

6.    Cautioned with the Cane (Cavern)

A Cavern Spanking movie from 1997 that also appears on Moonglow North Compilation N08 under the name 'Spanked for Speeding'.  Mrs. Jenkins changes into a red maid's uniform for part of her punishment.

7.    Devin (Girls Spanked Hard)

Another American movie maker with a basement studio.  These are short (5-10 minute) clips usually totaling 2 hours for each model.  This company still exists but the website is currently down and updates are irregular even when the website is running.

8.    Dinner of Just Desserts (Archive Video, which may be related to Strictly English)

I think this is an early Strictly English production but it was distributed under the name Archive Video.  Eight friends attend a dinner party that turns into a punishment session for two of the women,

 

 

9.    Dorset Cottage (Roue)

An early Roue movie that is just over 17 minutes long.  It is set an English cottage owned by a country gentleman named Mr. Ford that consists of three separate stories involving Mr. Ford and his border named Susie.

 

 

10.    Fugitive Patrol (Pain4Fem)

Pain4Fem started out making movies but eventually evolved into an operator of spanking clip sites.  They made about 24 movies (by my count) and I like most of them.  There were 5 movies in the Patrol series but Fugitive Patrol is my favorite.

11.    Heirs to Misfortune (Shadowlane)

I generally prefer British spanking movies to American but Shadowlane is an exception.  I like many Shadowlane movies but they do tend to be less severe than many others.  This movie features Samantha Woodley who is always worth seeing.

12.    Mandy Bait (Kane)

I'm a big fan of George Harrison-Marks movies.  This one was made after he left Janus and just as he was starting Kane.  CalStar calls it Mandy Bates but the name is actually a pun and the CalStar people didn't get it.  A teacher sets a trap for a student named Mandy and a copy of Kane magazine is the bait in the trap.  This movie features Sue Ellis at her seductive best.

13.    Martial Law (Mood)

I often find that Mood Pictures movies are too severe for my taste. This is an early Mood movie (2003).  It isn't as brutal as some of their later movies but it's still not for the faint of heart.  I often skip the first 10 minutes and start with verdict of the court martial.  There are two sequels to Martial Law but they are too much for me.

14.    Penalty Strokes 1&2 (Cavern)

Penalty Strokes 1&2 are two Cavern Spanking movies that were made in one day in September 1996.  The two parts are included on Moonglow North Compilations N03 and N06 respectively but both parts were given the same name, 'The Secretary'.  The two parts tell the same story with minor variations.  I like the second part best but both are very good.

15.    Room 2D & First Week of Term, Parts 1&2 (Roue)

Room 2D is a classic early Roue movie and the two parts of First Week of Term continue the story.  I think they could be edited into one hour-long movie without too much difficulty.  Room 2D is a 'must see' in my opinion.

16.    Spanking the Teacher (Spanking for Pleasure)

The second part of Spanking the Teacher might qualify as number one on my list of personal favorites (but the first part wouldn't).  A teacher canes a student and her father expresses his displeasure by caning the teacher in return.  The teacher is played by Suzi Burnett who also appears in Dinner of Just Desserts.

17.    Strict Prison 1 (Pain4Fem)

Another Pain4Fem movie (like Fugitive Patrol), there are three movies in the Strict Prison series but I think the first is the best of the three.  Kelly appears in a number of early P4F movies and clips.  Here she plays a prison guard who runs afoul of prison rules.

18.    Tales of Sin City, Part 1 (RGE/Lupus)

RGE/Lupus made two Sin City movies.  I saw Part 2 first and I didn't like it so I didn't bother with Part 1 until I decided to buy a cheap copy during the Lupus 'going out of business' sale.  Surprisingly, I thought Part 1 was much better than Part 2.  The canings here are severe by RGE/Lupus standards but still not as severe as those in many Mood Pictures movies.

 

 

19.    Teacher's Folly (Moonglow)

I debated whether this movie should be on the list, it has obvious weaknesses but it was the first movie that I ever bought and I still remember it fondly.  A teacher takes it upon herself to discipline two students rather than sending them to the headmaster.  When he finds out about it he starts by giving the students proper discipline then he gives the teacher a taste of how it should be done.  The teacher is played by Kara-Jayne Dempsey who also appears in Dinner of Just Desserts.

20.    The Caning of Flight Officer Fennington (Spanking for Pleasure)

This 1992 Spanking for Pleasure movie that features Sophie Fennington, then the wife of SfP co-founder and later Janus editor Christian Fennington. CalStar distributed this movie under the title 'Canings and Cold Showers'.  Sophie Fennington made 10 movies for SfP between 1983 and 1995. Her 1983 movie 'Veronica Takes the Rap' was the first SfP movie and it was made when Sophie was 19.  'The Flogging of Lady Constance' (1989) is another one of my favorites.

21.    The Deep Impact (RGE/Lupus)

The Deep Impact is a tongue-in-cheek piece about a writer who is struggling with the script for a new movie about three women in a medieval dungeon.  We see the scenes he is imagining while he is writing them but the movie's director is never satisfied with the scenes and he continually demands changes.

22.    The Definitive Guide (Firm Hand Spanking)

The Definitive Guide isn't a movie, it is a series of 10 clips from Firm Hand Spanking.  Amelia Jane Rutherford is supposedly the co-host of a video guide to corporal punishment and each episode includes a demonstration of the proper use of a spanking implement with AJR on the receiving end.  The last episode includes a caning on an antique caning bench.  I regretted that the series didn't include the school birch as one of the implements.

23.    The Doctor is In (Shadowlane)

The Doctor is In is a 2009 movie from Shadowlane.  It follows the well used plot of a patient, played by Diva Zerva, at a discipline therapy clinic.  This movie includes an enema scene which I could do without but, aside from that, it is one of my favorite Shadowlane movies.

24.    Whipping Day at Table Mountain & More Whipping Day at Table Mountain (Nu-West/Leda)

These are two movies from the latter days of Nu-West/Leda.  The two movies share the same plot, although there really isn't much of a plot.  In both movies, Ed Lee whips three women outdoors at his ranch studio where the Barn Whippings movies were also filmed.  It is really one story shown 6 times with minor variations but it does work.

25.    Wild Party 2 (RGE/Lupus)

Wild Party 2 and Spanking the Teacher would probably be the two contenders for the number one spot on my list of personal favorites if I was trying to rank these movies.  There are three Wild Party movies and I think this one is the best.  The first is almost as good but the third has issues caused by an actress who backed out during filming.
