The Training of Julia

 

“The Training of Julia” is a 22-minute movie released by Roue about 1985.  I have not been able to find an announcement of the release of this movie in Roue magazine.  It does not appear in any list of Roue movies published in any issue up to Roue 38 which was published around May 1985.  For this reason, I have dated it to 1985 but that could be wrong.  “The Training of Julia” is currently available on DVD through the Roue website at www.roue.com.

UPDATE (June 2023): I was able to look at a copy of Roue 39 and "The Training of Julia" was included in a list of movies printed in that issue.  I believe that issue would likely have been published about August 1985 so that confirms my belief that this movie would have been released sometime in 1985.

The manager of some establishment has received a complaint from one of her customers about an employee named Julia (played by a woman who also appears in the earlier Roue movies "Schoolgirl Nieces" and "Nurse's Remedy").  We never learn the nature of the establishment or the complaint but it is clear we are supposed to imagine it is a brothel.  The Madam immediately calls Julia in to see her.  Julia arrives wearing what could be a schoolgirl uniform and, after a short discussion, the Madam decides that Julia should be punished, or re-trained, over a period of 7 days.  Just after the 3-minute mark of the movie Julia is sent off to get something that is never identified but she soon returns with a foot stool.  She puts it down and the Madam asks her ‘where are the canes’ so she goes off to get those.  After a little more conversation, the Madam decides to give Julia a spanking and she takes Julia over her knee.  The spanking lasts about a minute and it is quite ordinary.

After the spanking, the Madam tells Julia to stand while she continues with some inane conversation but
eventually she becomes frustrated with Julia's replies and she moves on to the cane.  She begins with Julia standing on her toes.  After over 50 light-to-moderate strokes the Madam decides that Julia has too many clothes on so she has her partially undress and kneel on the stool.  This occurs at about the 10-minute mark of the movie.

The caning continues with much weak struggling by Julia and even more inane conversation by the Madam.  The strokes are a little harder, but not much.  The camera position isn’t very good so there isn’t much to see and the color has faded over time which makes the problem even worse.  It all becomes very tiresome over time.  Eventually (about the 15-minute mark) the Madam has Julia stand again and she sends Julia back to her room

The story continues the next day.  Julia is standing in the Madam’s office, partially undressed and holding the cane in her teeth while the Madam makes a phone call to the unhappy customer.  She leaves the phone off the hook so the customer can hear the next stage of Julia’s training.  Julia leans over the stool while the Madam administers 15 moderate strokes of the cane mixed with some hand spanking.  Afterward Julia is sent away until the next day.  This takes about three minutes.

The final scene is the seventh day of Julia’s training.  It starts just like the second day and Julia is soon back over the stool.  This time there are about 24 strokes and they are among the hardest so far.  Unfortunately, the camera work still leaves much to be desired.  The movie ends with another phone call to the unhappy customer who arranges another meeting.

This movie is typical of the Roue movies made after Alan Bell, there just isn’t much to it and it is hardly
worth watching.  The poor camera work, inane dialogue and weak action are all problems.  This is all aggravated by the poor quality of the video tape which deteriorated before it was digitized.  This movie might be worth a look if you are interested in Roue movies but otherwise there really isn’t any reason to watch it.
