I love British spanking movies of the eighties and nineties and I've spent the last few years delving into their history. I started this blog to share my interest and what I've learned about it.

Can you help me find a movie? I have been able to finding a few of the Kane I've been searching for with the help of two readers but there are still several others that I'm trying to find. These include Take Three Girls, The French Maid (aka The French Maid's Flogging), Stripe Me Pink, Housewives Choice and The Real Business. Please leave a comment if you know where I might be able to find any of these.

Shadow Lane Synopsis

And the answer is ... but you’ve probably forgotten the question so let me start by recapping the past month’s activity.

I started a post in late-March post with a complaint about the lack of new material from my usual suppliers of spanking moves.   Shadow Lane had never been one of my regular sources but I had seen clips from a few of their movies so I decided to look into what they had to offer.   I had some trouble with the website in the beginning (and I still don’t find it to be ‘user friendly’) but I eventually learned how to download movies and I decided to check out a few.  My original plan had been to pick four movies from their catalogue but that eventually grew to be six.   The six movies I watched were:
  • The Doctor Is In - This was the first movie I watched (but the last one I reviewed) and it remains my favorite even though enemas aren’t usually part of my fantasies.
  • Dangerous Blondes - I liked it but I thought there were missed opportunities and this could easily have been a better movie.
  • Heirs to Misfortune - I was initially disappointed with this movie but it has grown on me over time, partly because I like all three actresses (Salem, Wells & Woodley).  Again, I thought there were missed opportunities and it could easily have been a much better movie.
  • Sting Operation – I wasn’t particularly impressed with either part but I thought Part 1 (with Chloe Elise) was better than Part 2 even though I liked Samantha Woodley.  Taken together they were a serious disappointment.
  • In The Red – This was one of the very few sex-and-spanking movies that I’ve ever watched and the ‘jury is still out’ on this type of movie for me.  Overall, I thought the sex was better than the spanking.
  • Brat Whack – By far the poorest of the six.  I liked the actress (Katherine St. James) and I would be willing to watch more of her work (if I could find any) but the movie was just boring.
The technical quality of all of these movies was generally very good; the only serious flaw I noticed was a camera that was visible at the edge of the frame in ‘In The Red’.  I have some quibbles about the camera angles since there aren’t as many ‘face on’ shots as I would like but that isn’t a serious issue.

There are definitely some things that I like about Shadow Lane movies.   First, Shadow Lane seems to be able to attract all of the spanking actresses that I like (sorry guys but I just don’t pay that much attention).  Then they give them a decent wardrobe rather than the ‘jeans and t-shirt’ that is the standard wardrobe for some producers.  Chloe Elise in a ‘little black dress’ in ‘Dangerous Blondes’ is an image that’s going to stay with me for a long time.  Of course there is a ‘but’ coming but that’s below.

The other thing that I like is that Shadow Lane movies tend to be more erotic than those produced by many other companies.  I think too many spanking movies ‘get right to it’ rather than letting the action build slowly.  The people at Shadow Lane certainly know how to tease and I assume that Eve Howard, the writer of all of the movies that I watched, deserves the credit for this.  This ability probably explains why Shadow Lane seems to have a large female following (at least, that’s my impression).   Unfortunately, the ‘but’ I mentioned above also applies here on occasion.

On the other hand, there are some things I don’t like about Shadow Lane movies.   My biggest complaint is the repetition.  Every movie seems to have long OTK hand spanking scenes that are repeated over and over.  ‘Heirs to Misfortune’ is an example.  First, Samantha Woodley receives a long OTK hand spanking.  Next, Sierra Salem receives a long OTK hand spanking.  Then, Amber Pixie Wells receives a long OTK hand spanking.  Finally, just for variety, Salem and Wells receive simultaneous long OTK hand spankings.  I often found myself losing interest because I’d seen it all before.  ‘Brat Whack’ was probably the worst example of this.  The movie has three OTK hand spanking scenes that go on so long (almost 10 minutes each) that I was hitting fast forward before they finished.  The movie ends with a very good (despite the lack of a ’face on’ shot) naked strapping scene but I was already so bored that this couldn’t save the movie for me.

The ‘but’ I mentioned above refers to missed opportunities – at least I think there are missed opportunities.  For example, I mentioned Chloe Elise’s little black dress above.  I spent most of ‘Dangerous Blondes’ waiting to see her take it off but she never did.  If this movie had included her naked paddling scene from Sting Operation (Part 1) I think it could have become one of my favorite spanking movies of all time.   ‘Brat Whack’ is another movie where I think there were missed opportunities.  I wish they had made two changes.  First, hire a better actor for the boyfriend (and to the best of my knowledge this is his only Shadow Lane movie) but more importantly, cut one of the long OTK hand spanking scenes and replace it with something else.  My suggestion might be to cut the scene with the mother; not that there is anything wrong with this scene by itself but it’s just one too many.  What I might do instead is start with the first boyfriend scene but have the follow up scene with the boyfriend set the next day rather than later that evening.  Then, I would turn the mother into a teacher and add a scene at school the next day.  I grew up in one of the few states where hand strapping was the standard school punishment so I would have the teacher strap Ms. St. James (or gives her a few swats of the paddle) for being inattentive in class because she is thinking about the coming evening.  This wouldn’t have to be a long scene, and it certainly wouldn’t have to be a 10 minute punishment, but a short strapping/paddling scene would eliminate some of the repetition.  Then I wouldn’t be too bored to appreciate the strong ending that the movie already has.

Despite my disappointment with several of the six movies that I watched, I will probably continue to watch the occasional Shadow Lane movie.  I not sure that Shadow Lane will ever become my favorite producer of spanking movies, but they could if they were just able to deliver on some of those opportunities that I think they are currently missing.
