Back to School

 

“Back to School” is a 21-minute movie released by Phoenix in 1984.  The release was announced in Phoenix 24 which also includes an announcement for a movie called “Exchange Student” and a four-page photostory for the earlier movie “Spanking Interviews 1&2”.  I have no idea who produced “Back to School” but most sources describe it as the last movie released by Phoenix.  None of those sources mention a movie by the name of “Exchange Student” but I will return to it in my next post.  “Back to School” was released in the US by CalStar and it is currently available from CalStar Direct sites like www.hotmovies.com.

This movie features bondage actress Simone Devon as Laura (although she is clearly called Paula several times) who is talking with a therapist about her memories of being punished at school.  She begins by recounting an incident where she was punished by both her teacher and the Vice-Principal.

The scene cuts to Laura, in a school uniform, standing in front of a male teacher who is sitting at his desk.  The tape had obviously begun to degrade before the movie was digitized so the opening of this scene is very dark.  He calls her around to the side of his desk and has her lower her panties and lift her skirt.  He starts to give her a hand spanking but the action is filmed from an unusual angle (below) which is disconcerting.  He soon decides that this problem is more than he can handle so he leaves to get the Vice-Principal.

The Vice-Principal (a familiar face in British spanking movies of this era) arrives and begins by
continuing the hand spanking but soon moves on to a wooden ruler.  After a few strokes of the ruler, she is across his knee for more hand spanking but he soon repositions her across the desk.  Unfortunately, some of the camera work in this sequence leaves a lot to be desired.  This sequence ends just before the 11-minute mark of the movie and the scene returns to the therapist’s office.

Next Laura recalls being sent to a correctional home for girls and she describes her first visit to the Punishment Room at the home.  She arrives at the Punishment Room in handcuffs and she is told to take a seat outside the door and wait.  

Soon a woman opens the door and asks to see her punishment slip.  The woman tells Laura that she will have to call ‘Mr. Holiday’ and then she leads Laura into the room.  Inside is a leather couch and a selection of implements hanging on a rack.  The woman has Laura remove her panties and bend over the couch.  The woman takes a flogger from the rack and begins to use it on Laura.  Mr. Holiday arrives after about a dozen strokes of the flogger.  He asks if Laura has been struggling and, when he is told that she hasn’t stopped squirming, he decides that restraints are required.

They put Laura in ankle and wrist cuffs strapped to the couch and then the woman selects a weighted
leather paddle from the rack.  She gives Laura about 20 moderate slaps with it.  Mr. Holiday decides she has been well disciplined (I wouldn't agree) and he orders her released.  There is a final interchange between Laura and the woman that suggests a little girl-on-girl action is about to occur but the movie returns to the therapist’s office before anything happens.  There is a final conversation with the therapist and then the movie ends.

This movie is worth seeing if you’re interested in the history of spanking movies but there really isn’t any other reason to watch it.  The action is tame, the technical quality (and the camera work in particular) leaves a lot to be desired and the videotape hasn’t aged well.  By today’ standards I would consider it a disappointment.
