Private Tuition

 

“Private Tuition” is a 21-minute movie released by Roue in early 1984.  It’s release was announced on pages 60 and 61 of Roue 31 (below).  British spanking magazines of the eighties didn’t put dates on their issues but I think Roue 31 was probably published around March 1984.  The previous issue of Roue, Roue 30 published around January 1984, includes a photostory called "The Tutor" with pictures of the Tutor and Elizabeth that look as though they were taken at the same time as the filming of "Private Tuition" but there is no mention of the movie.  “Private Tuition” is currently available on DVD through the Roue website at www.roue.com.

The Video Recordings Act 1984 required that commercial video recordings offered for sale or rent within the UK must carry a classification issued bythe British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) which was also authorized to deny classification.  The Act was passed by the Parliament of the United Kingdom in July 1984 but it didn’t take effect until September 1988 which allowed time for the government to create and staff the BBFC, establish its rules and allow it to begin to classify the hundreds of videos created each year along with the thousands already in existence.  Several spanking video producers, including Janus and Blushes, stopped making movies in response to this Act but others found ways to work around it such as distributing movies only to members of a private club or operating out of another nearby country such as Holland (the Roue DVD shown above is marked 'Not for Sale in the UK' in the lower left hand corner of the back cover).  Spanking for Pleasure eventually tried to have one their movies, “A Caning for Miss Granger”, classified but without success.  Roue seems to have continued making movies after the Act was passed but it stopped before the Act took effect.  “Private Tuition” was probably made while the Act was working its way through Parliament.

The movie opens with Elizabeth arriving at her tutor’s home 47 minutes and 29 seconds late for some after school help.  This doesn’t leave enough time for her lesson.  He decides that such blatant disregard for promptness cannot be tolerated so she is immediately across his knee for a hand spanking.   This opening scene lasts nearly five minutes and it is hardly worth watching.

A second student, Julie arrives for her lesson just as Elizabeth is preparing to leave.  The two girls talk about the spanking while their tutor is out of the room.  He returns and sends Elizabeth home then he soon discovers that Julie has she hasn’t finished her assigned homework.  We all know what that means and another OTK spanking follows.  The second spanking is almost indistinguishable from the first although she does struggle a little more.  Afterward, Julie is sent home but she is told to return the following day at the same time as Elizabeth.  This scene ends just before the 10-minute mark of the movie.

The two girls arrive the next day, on time but he has to leave to see someone as soon as they arrive.  He tells them to review their notes until he returns and then he leaves them.  They start searching through his office the moment he is out the door.  They find a tawse hidden between two records and then they decided to play one of the records.  They are still going through the records when he returns and this leads to exactly what you would expect.  Julie is the first over his knee and her short spanking follows the same pattern as the day before.  Elizabeth is next and more of the same follows.   He tells the girls to clean up their mess but Julie argues and receives another short hand spanking for her effort.

But this time the punishment doesn’t end with a spanking.  He gives them the choice of being reported to the Headmistress, who they know will give them a harsh caning, or accepting further punishment from him.  They, of course, decide to accept his punishment and it is the tawse they had found earlier.  He tells them to undress to their underclothes but Julie tries to argue so she has to undress completely.  There is just over 3 minutes left in the movie by the time they reach this point.  He has Elizabeth bend over the table while Julie holds her hands.  He gives her three strokes before pulling down her panties and then giving her another fourteen strokes.  Next, the two girls trade places.  Julie receives only 9 strokes that don’t seem particularly hard before her punishment ends.  Finally, he has the two girls stand facing the wall so he can admire his handiwork while the movie ends.

There really isn’t much to this movie.  It is obvious that there are at least two directors behind the Roue movie.  Alan Bell’s movies are usually very good, and he often appears in his own movies, while the movies made by the other director (or directors) leave a lot to be desired.  This one is hardly worth the effort of watching.

 

Nurse's Remedy

 “Nurse’s Remedy” is a 22-minute movie released by Roue in 1983.  It’s release in announced on page 3 of Roue 27 which also includes a full-page summary on page 28 and a full color ad on page 29.  “Nurse’s Remedy” is currently available on DVD through the Roue website at www.roue.com.

 

Roue released 10 movies (some in 2 parts) that were announced in three issues (21, 22 & 23) of Roue but there was a lengthy gap between the publication of issues 22 and 23 due to a management dispute.  “Caned After School” was announced in Roue 24 but there wasn’t another announcement of a movie release until Roue 27.  Issues were usually published every 2 months during this period so this is a 6-month gap.  British spanking magazines of the eighties didn’t put dates on their issues but I think Roue 27 was published around July 1983.

Julie Whitworth, a nurse with long dark hair (played by a woman who also appears in "Schoolgirl Nieces" and "Private Lessons"), is siting in a lounge when the head nurse, named Banks, who has short dark hair, walks in.  She has a letter that was sent to the hospital director, who is also named Banks, from a patient who is complaining about nurse Whitworth.  The two nurses discuss the letter in a scene where the standard of acting is low even by spanking movie standards.  Nurse Whitworth has already been warned about her conduct by Hospital Director Banks so Nurse Banks (those names have to be a mistake) decides that action is required.  Nurse Banks gives Julie a choice, corporal punishment or she will show the letter to the Director.  Can there be any doubt what her choice will be?

The punishment begins just before the 5-minute mark of the movie.  It begins with a 4-minute hand spanking that is nothing special.  Next comes a small leather paddle with Nurse Whitworth kneeling on the floor.  The paddle is interspersed with some rather inane conversation.  The paddling scene runs a little over 2 minutes and it ends with a very abrupt edit.  After the paddle the Head Nurse takes Nurse Whitworth to Director Banks office.

In the Director’s office, the Head Nurse searches through his desk looking for a leather belt that she knows he has.  She finds the belt and has Nurse Whitworth lift her skirt, lower her panties and kneel on a desk chair.  Eighteen strokes of the belt follow before the Director walks in (there is another problem with names here as the Head Nurse first identifies him as Mr. Dent and then corrects it to Director Banks). 

The Director demands to know what is going on and the Head Nurse shows him the letter.  He is still angry telling the Head Nurse that he is the one who delivers punishments and then he has her remove Nurse Whitworth’s uniform.   After another very abrupt edit, the caning is already underway.  I could almost believe that I’m watching a pirated copy of the movie that has been cut down but I’m not.   It appears that Nurse Whitworth is bent over his desk but later we see that she is kneeling on the desk chair again.  He proceeds to deliver a few quick but rather tepid stokes of the cane.  He soon decides that this position is adequate so he has her bend over and touch her toes.  The two dozen-or-so strokes that follow are harder but some of them are shown using camera effects that I find annoying.  Finally, she is back touching her toes for a final ten strokes (one of which is clearly shown twice) that are the hardest of her punishment.

I don’t think this movie was made by Alan Bell and the usual Roue team and it falls far short of their standards.  It simply isn’t very good.   The ending seems to suggest that there is more to come.  I did find one reference, a review on spankingfilmreview.com, that describes this movie as ‘Nurse’s Remedy Part 1’.  That review doesn’t give a run time but the description seems to include everything in this movie.  I haven’t found anything else to suggest that a sequel with Director Banks and Nurse Banks was ever made.

Blogger says this is my 200^th post but I deleted a few of the very early posts made that I while I was still deciding the direction of this blog.  I have almost worked my way through the Roue Classic movies, those made prior to 1984, but there are a couple more that I want to cover.  After that I wanted to return to Kane since I still have many GHM movies to cover and I’ve added two new Kane movies to my collection in the past year; one provided to me by a reader and one I found on a used DVD site.  I also have a number of Moonglow movies that I want to cover and I have never touched Red Stripe which is a serious omission.  Then there is SfP, I’ve reviewed a few of their movies but my SfP filmography lists over 400 titles so there is still a long way to go.

Caned After School

“Caned After School” is a 16-minute movie released by Roue in 1983.  Its' release is announced is Roue 24 with a selection of black-and-white photos on pages 32 and 33 but these photos were probably posed for the magazine since nothing like them appears in the movie.  A larger selection of B&W photos (4 pages) appeared in Roue 25 and the 2-page spread was repeated in Roue 26 and 27.  “Caned After School” is currently available through the Roue website at www.roue.com.

In an August 7, 2010 post on his ‘Memories of a Strict Uncle’ blog, Nick Urzdown wrote:

“Caned After School is one the great gems of CP video and a must see for the caning aficionado. The girl on the receiving end of the correction became hysterical roughly half-way through the shoot, but remained in position to receive the full tally of strokes.”

Urzdown sells a copy of the video on his ‘Classic British Spanking’ Clips4Sale store where he describes it as:

“One of the great caning videos of all time, the girl on the receiving end of the discipline was left hysterical at the end of the shoot. The caning is methodical and administered coldly, with the man wielding the cane ignoring the girl's rising hysteria to complete the full punishment.”

The movie opens with a female student bent over a desk with her skirt up.  She is crying and we are left to assume why.  An unknown man with a ruler arrives and spanks her with the ruler while she struggles.  There is no explanation why and we don’t she his face, just hers.  Soon, he pulls her up off the desk and takes her over his knee for a hand spanking.  Part way through, he pulls down her uniform panties and then continues the hand spanking while she cries loudly throughout.  The spanking ends after a little more than 3 minutes and he tells he to ‘get ready for the cane’.  This is the first dialogue in the movie.

She takes off her skirt, places two books on the floor and stands on them, bends over a desk and waits.  Her caning begins at about the 5-minute mark of the movie.  The caning is slow and deliberate, it is firm but not hard.  The Headmaster has her hold the side of the desk while she is being caned and frequently reminds her of exactly where he wants her hands.  There is very little dialogue and it is sometimes difficult to understand but it isn’t important.

After 9 strokes he has her stand and remove her panties.  Then he has her move the books a little further apart and resume her position over the desk.  The caning continues, a little faster than before, for another 16 strokes.  She struggles more than before and he eventually has to hold her hands.  He stops briefly and she is on her knees crying during the break but he soon has her back over the desk for a final 5 strokes, bringing the total to 30.  The movie ends with her standing in the corner with her hands on her head.

This is a very simple movie, the girl together with a largely unseen headmaster (which makes him more ominous) on a very basic set.  Despite that, it is surprisingly good.  It focuses on what we want to see, the caning, and it does it very well.  The actress plays her part well and it certainly doesn’t appear that she is enjoying the experience, which is all the more impressive since the movie must have been filmed in a number of separate scenes that were edited together.  The videotape has suffered over time and there is some color fade but it is a well-made movie and well worth seeing.  I suspect that Alan Bell directed this movie and he certainly knew how to make a very erotic spanking movie.
