Caned Journalists

 

“Caned Journalists” is a SMAX Video movie that was probably made in the late nineties since it appears on a list of SMAX Video movies that was posted in October 2000.  It has a runtime of 38 minutes.  This movie features a cast of three, 2 women including Sara Benachour as Claire, another dark-haired woman and 1 man who has not appeared in any other SMAX videos that I’ve seen who plays ‘Mr. Blake’, a producer of spanking movies.  I don’t know where this film can be purchased at present but bootleg copies appear on chat boards from time to time.

I’ve been traveling a lot lately so this poor blog has suffered from a lack of attention.  I have one more trip before the end of May but I have been working on two posts (including this one) and I had hoped to put both up before my next trip … but one out of two isn’t too bad.  I have received several comments lately and I have tried to address those as they came in.

The movie opens with Claire and Jeanine entering an office that has been used in other SMAX movies.  The story is simple, two journalists are interviewing Mr. Blake about his movies.  They get right into the interview with very few preliminaries and they start by discussing spanking parties.  The discussion sounds credible which shouldn’t be surprising since SMAX’s original business was organizing spanking parties in London.  It only takes a couple of minutes for Mr. Blake to get around to suggesting that they shouldn’t be writing about something they haven’t experienced.  Of course, it turns out that they two women had already considered this possibility and they agree with very little discussion.  In some ways I think this may have been a missed opportunity; I would have like to hear a little more ‘behind the scenes’ information about spanking parties.

Jeanine will be the first to try a spanking just after the 5-minute mark of the movie.  He has her bend over his desk and he gives her a moderate hand spanking.  There is one editing error early in the spanking when the director can clearly be heard calling ‘cut’.  The spanking continues, Claire seems to be uncomfortable with the situation but Jeanine is definitely into it.  After about 2 minutes he sends Jeanine to stand aside and he calls Claire to take her place.  She objects, but not very hard, and she is soon bent over the desk.  The two women start to argue as Claire’s hand spanking begins and she breaks position several times during the course of her spanking.  Then Jeanine returns for another round, this time with her dress up, while the two women continue arguing throughout.  Very soon, her panties also come down.  Claire announces that she will have none of this but, of course, she submits when her turn comes.  Their bickering has become very tiresome by this point of the movie.  There are a couple of problems before the end of this scene, the two women start to laugh and then the director can be heard calling cut again.

The two women change places again just after the 15-minute mark of the movie and Mr. Blake breaks out a leather strap.  He tells Jeanine that some people receive up to 15 strokes and he begins to strap her bare bottom.  She loses count of the strokes but I think she receives more than 15 (I didn’t go back to count myself).  The strokes become harder as they continue but she can’t keep from laughing.   Eventually he switches over to a tawse and the strapping continues.  Finally, he has her kneel on a chair for the final few strokes.  He pulls out one more paddle but I’m not sure what it is.  He gives Jeanine several strokes that appear to be quite hard but she keeps saying that she can’t feel it.  This leads him to decide that it’s going to have to be the cane.  He decides on 16 strokes and he begins with her still kneeling on the chair.   The caning begins and, based on the conversation, it seems that Claire wanders off during this scene.  The caning itself is unremarkable and the inane conversation continues throughout.  Claire eventually returns and tries, unsuccessfully, to put an end to the caning.  Mr. Blake tells her to stand in the corner with her hands on her while he finishes Jeanine’s caning with two heavier canes.  He has Jeanine bend over and hold her ankles while he administers a final 23 strokes.  Jeanine’s strapping and caning has lasted nearing 18 minutes.

Change places again, with a little more bickering and the camera going badly out of focus, and then it’s Claire’s turn for the strap but not until after the director can be heard intervening again.  Claire bends over and holds her ankles for a half dozen strokes with a strap … and that's the end, there is nothing more.  The movie ends with a final conversation between Jeanine and Mr. Blake while Claire laughs uncontrollably.  Finally, Mr. Blake calls cut while the two women laugh and the movie fades to black.

This movie is a train wreck and I can’t help but think that there may have been a little too much alcohol consumed before filming.  The dialogue is cringe inducing, the action is unspectacular (and Claire’s final punishment is a joke) and the technical work is extremely poor.  There may be a story behind the making of this movie, and that story could well be much better than the movie itself but, as a spanking movie, "Caned Journalists" is a disappointment.
