‘Spanking Salesman’ and ‘Fetch the Cane’ are two movies that
I believe are from Imprint Productions.
‘Spanking Salesman’ is about 18-minutes long and it was probably made in
1985 while ‘Fetch the Cane’ is about 23-minutes long and it was probably made
in 1986. Both were distributed in the US
by CalStar and they are currently also available on several ‘video on demand’
sites such as www.hotmovies.com. I have not been able to find any record of either
movie being released in the UK and I can’t identify the movie makers.
‘Spanking Salesman’ features two friends Julie and Alison,
and Julie (I think this is Sue Ellis in one of her first roles) tells the story in a voice over.
The movie opens with the two girls going through a catalogue looking for
erotic Christmas gifts when the company’s salesman, Oliver, arrives with his
sample case and cane. Oliver opens his
case and starts to show the girls the toys.
During his sales pitch both Julie and Alison flashback to some of
their previous experiences. We see Allison
with an ex-boyfriend, who is whipping her with a doubled belt on bare flesh
and Julie with a boyfriend made her put on a schoolgirl uniform
and then had her pull her own pants down for 12 strokes of the cane. Both scenes are short (Julie's scene is only about 2 minutes and Alison's is about 3 minutes long) and neither is particularly memorable.
When we return from the flashbacks, the two girls are kneeling
side-by-side on the floor, and bent over the coffee table, so that Oliver can demonstrate
the use of the tawse on their bare bottoms. This scene fills the final 5 minutes of the movie. The girls kick their high heels and yelp in
discomfort and, by the end their bottoms are red and bruised. Julie’s final voice over tells us that Oliver
is a phony, he is actually Julie’s new boyfriend posing as a salesman to entice
Alison into an erotic adventure that presumable continues after the blackout.
I like the premise of ‘Spanking Salesman’ but it doesn’t
really deliver. The movie is short and revealing
the ending in a voice over is a ‘cop out’ that largely wastes the intriguing concept. This is one of those movies that I would like
to see remade because I think the premise could be turned into a great movie.
‘Fetch the Cane’ opens with Carol, a blonde dressed in a school uniform talking on the telephone about a boy
from her math class who is likely to be expelled from school for some
unspecified infraction. Her mother
enters and tells her to get off the phone and then she begins to recite a list
of problems that have occurred at school.
Finally, her mother announces that she is going to call her stepfather
and have him come over after work. She
calls and tells him that his firm hand is required and then she sends Carol to
her bedroom.
The scene shifts to the stepfather (Thomas) arriving. The couple talk and decide that corporal punishment is order; her mother suggests a caning but Thomas decides to begin
with a spanking.
Carol is called into
the room (she has changed out of the school uniform) and she is soon over his
knee. Before long, her mother tells Tom
that he isn’t doing it right and she proceeds to demonstrate the proper
technique. Partway through the hand
spanking Carol is told to take off her panties and skirt and the spanking
continues. Carol struggles and whimpers
throughout until she finally physically resists leading Carol to announce that
‘now it’s the cane’ and she sends Carol to the bathroom.
The scene cuts to the bathroom with Carol siting on the
toilet and her mother telling her that she is not going to have any more wet
floors. The mother returns to the living
room and tells Tom that she sent Carol to fetch the cane. Carol enters and Tom has her kneel over the
couch. After two strokes the mother
announces that changes are required. She
starts rearranging the furniture and has Carol bend over a bar stool. This is about the midpoint of the movie and
the caning continues with much crying and struggle but much of it isn’t
terribly convincing. After a few more
strokes, and some crying on the floor, Carol is completely naked. Then, after a few more strokes leave Carol
throwing a temper tantrum on the floor, her parents lead her out of the room.
I was disappointed with ‘Fetch the Cane’ despite a promising
beginning. The pace is slow,
particularly in the punishment scenes, and ‘Carol’ isn’t enough of an actress
to make the constant crying and wailing throughout the punishments convincing. Also, the ‘wait till your father gets home
premise’ is defeated because the mother turns out to be a better top than
‘Thomas’.
