“Am I Going to be Spanked Frank”, also known as “Please Don’t Spank Me Camilla” was the first movie released by Red Stripe in 1994. It was eventually given Red Stripe catalogue number RS-110. This movie features Camilla Parker (Dominique Wright), Suzy Hay (Yvonne) and Frank Hurte (Ivor Gold). Red Stripe movies can usually be recognized by their theme music and common style of title cards but these wouldn’t become standard until the fourth Red Stripe movie. This movie was released in the US by Ohh Tee Kay and an extract appears on Moonglow North Compendium No. 9 under the title “Caned by Camilla”. All but about a dozen of the Red Stripe movies are currently available through the Roue website (www.rowe.com) but this is one of the exceptions and I not aware of anywhere that it can currently be purchased.
Ivor Goldblatt had many careers before he reinvented himself as a spanking party impresario. He also appeared in spanking movies for Cavern Spanking, Moonglow, Strictly English and Spanking for Pleasure before starting to make his own movies under the Red Stripe banner. He made 72 Red Stripe movies between 1994 and his death in 2001. He worked with Dominique Wright regularly in the beginning but they eventually went their separate ways for reasons unknown. Dominique, aka Camilla Scott, often appears in a red blazer but she wears black in this movie. Yvonne, also known as Yvonne from Bristol, appeared in about 16 spanking movies between 1994 and 2000. She made three Red Stripe movies (“Am I Going to be Spanked Frank”, “Doing Hard Time” and “Not in Front of Her”) as well as two for Smart Associates (“The Headmaster’s Wasp” and “Tara’s Lazy Maids”) which acquired Red Stripe after Ivor Gold’s death. She also made movies for Cavern Spanking, Moonglow, Top Marks and Spanking for Pleasure.
Frank (Ivor Gold) is in the kitchen doing the dishes when Suzy (Yvonne) comes in. She has been out all night and she hasn’t done the chores that she performs in place of paying rent. Obviously, Frank is not satisfied with this. He reminds her of her visit to his niece the last time these problems occurred and Frank decides that another visit to Camilla is exactly what is required in this instance. He has her change into a school uniform (I’m not sure why) and then he sends her off to see Camilla. This opening takes about 14 minutes.
Camila is laying out her spanking implements, a paddle, a tawse and a cane, when Sally arrives. Some of the framing is quite awkward during their initial meeting and an overhead microphone and light can be seen in a mirror in several shots. Sally’s punishment begins with an OTK hand spanking. The spanking is broken into two parts with some dialogue in between and the whole sequence lasts about 10 minutes.
The paddle is next. Sally bends over the back of a chair and the paddling begins. Sally’s skirt comes off after about 15 swats and the paddling continues. The paddling was intended to be 50 swats but the light paddle breaks after 42 swats so Camilla moves on to the tawse. The next sequence is very similar to the previous one. The punishment is delivered at a leisurely pace, perhaps too leisurely because the sequences do begin to drag. There are occasional breaks but I couldn’t see any evidence that scenes were being repeated, although 2 scenes shown from different angles were so similar that I did rewind to check at one point. Camilla adds an additional 5 strokes of the tawse to make up for the broken paddle before moving on to the cane.
There is a break and some dialogue (and the chair has turned around in the interval) before the caning begins. It was announced that Sally would receive twelve strokes of the cane but there are many more; Sally counts twelve after she has already received close to a dozen and there is an uncounted final stroke. I can’t help but wonder if failing to count the first strokes was an error during shooting and the editors decided to include all of the available footage. There is a little more dialogue before Camilla sends Sally back to Frank. The movie ends with Frank examining the results of Camilla’s work and warning Sally what will happen if there are any further problems.
The is the first Red Stripe movie and there are a long list of minor problems. Many of the problems are technical but the biggest problem is the pacing. Cutting five minutes, and perhaps as much as ten, would have resulted in a much better movie. There simply isn’t enough story here to fill the 50 minutes. Red Stripe would eventually solve all of these issues and their movies would become much better.
