I love British spanking movies of the eighties and nineties and I've spent the last few years delving into their history. I started this blog to share my interest and what I've learned about it.

Can you help me find a movie? I have been able to finding a few of the Kane I've been searching for with the help of two readers but there are still several others that I'm trying to find. These include Take Three Girls, The French Maid (aka The French Maid's Flogging), Stripe Me Pink, Housewives Choice and The Real Business. Please leave a comment if you know where I might be able to find any of these.

Real Tears

I received one comment while I was traveling last week and I wanted to respond to that comment.  A reader noted that I had mentioned a lost Janus movie called ‘Real Tears’. He sent me a link to a copy of a movie by that name and I wanted to both acknowledge his help and comment on the link he sent me.

A series of posts appeared on the Janus website ten to twelve years ago offering a reward to readers if they had copies of some early Janus movies that they would be willing to share.  These posts are still available at https://www.janusworldwide.com/?s=real+tears.  Like the writers at Janus, I have referred to these movies as the 'lost movies'. One of the lost movies is ‘Real Tears’ which I believe was probably made in 1982 or 83.  My reader sent me a link to a 320 MB Apple Real Media (.rm) file of a movie by that name.  It is a file that has appeared on various spanking boards over the years and it has a title card that clearly reads ‘Real Tears’ (see above) but I don’t think it is the Janus movie for a couple of reasons.

The first reason is the length of the movie; it runs 50:44.  Spanking movies of the early 80s were generally very short.  To the best of my knowledge, the longest Janus spanking movie was their last movie called ‘Moral Welfare’ which was released in two parts.  Part 1 was 25 minutes long and Part 2 was 15 minutes long.  The three-part St. Winifred’s Trilogy was 47 minutes long but the individual parts were 14 minutes, 13 minutes and 20 minutes respectively.  The limitation was that these movies were generally sold as Super 8 film cartridges which were available in two standard sizes; a 200 foot cartridge which would run for 8-9 minutes and a 400 foot cartridge that would run 16-18 minutes.  Larger sizes were available but they couldn’t be run on many home movie projectors. Consequently, a 25-minute movie like ‘Moral Welfare Part 1’ would have to be sold as two cartridges which made it more expensive.  There were few spanking movies longer than about 18 minutes until home video recorders started to become more common later in the 80s.  Janus stopped making movies after censorship advocates succeeded in passing the Video Recordings Act of 1984 in response to the public outrage over the availability of “video nasties” in the UK arising out of the morality campaigns run in several tabloid newspapers.

The second, and probably more convincing reason is that Janus recovered images from 2 of the lost movies, ‘Real Tears’ and ‘Fighting at School’, which they posted on their website in December 2011 (same URL as above but bottom of that page).  They don’t identify which picture came from which movie so I have copied both of them below.

Neither of these pictures bares the slightest resemblance to anything in the 50:44 minute version of Real Tears and I posted 5 screen caps from that movie below for comparison.

Despite the fact that I don’t think this movie is actually the Janus ‘Real Tears’ I appreciate my reader taking the time to send me the link.  It is always worth taking a look so thank you again.
