I love British spanking movies of the eighties and nineties and I've spent the last few years delving into their history. I started this blog to share my interest and what I've learned about it.

Can you help me find a movie? I have been able to finding a few of the Kane I've been searching for with the help of two readers but there are still several others that I'm trying to find. These include Take Three Girls, The French Maid (aka The French Maid's Flogging), Stripe Me Pink, Housewives Choice and The Real Business. Please leave a comment if you know where I might be able to find any of these.

The Red Rolls Royce and Red Rolls Royce 2

‘The Red Rolls Royce’ is a 37-minute Red Stripe movie, catalogue number RS-155, that was released in 1999.  It is currently available as a ‘Red Stripe’ movie at www.roue.com and from CalStar Direct websites like www.hotmovies.com.

‘Red Rolls Royce 2’ is a 51-minute Gaslight (Smart Associates) movie that was released in 2001.  It is currently available from the Smart Associates shop at www.roue.com and from CalStar Direct websites like www.hotmovies.com.

Ivor Goldblatt, also known as Ivor Gold, was killed on March 1, 2001.  According to newspaper reports he was stabbed 26 times following a burglary in his home.  He was 61 at the time of his death.  He appeared in a total of 26 spanking movies; 16 of them for his own production company, Red Stripe, which he founded in 1994.  He also directed all of the 63 movies made by Red Stripe before his death.  One final Red Stripe movie, ‘It’s Because of You’ was made after his death and then the company was purchased by Smart Associates (or Smart Films, I see both names used and I’m not sure which is correct).  Smart made at least 13 movies under the Bottom Line and Gaslight brands before being acquired by RemmingtonSteele.tv.

‘The Red Rolls Royce’ and ‘Red Rolls Royce 2’ are two movies that share a common concept and setting.  The first was made in 1999 by Red Stripe and the second was made in 2001 by Gaslight.  Both of these movies have a cast of 1 man and 2 women.  The character Lord James Wentworth appears in both movies but he is played by different actors in the two movies, perhaps they are meant to be father and son.  Dawn Deacon, who also appears in “It’s Your Responsibility’ and ‘Like Mother, Like Daughter’ appears as Lady Wentworth in the first movie and another actress I can’t identify, who also appears in ‘Taking Care of Business,’ plays the Mathews, the chauffer.  Stacy Rowe who appeared in 8 Smart movies and 3 Red Stripe movies plays the younger Lord James’ wife Tara, a recurring character in Smart movies.  The maid Prudence, another recurring character in Smart movies, is played by Yvonne, who also appeared in movies for Red Stripe, Moonglow, Spanking for Pleasure and Cavern.  A gardener watches some of the action in the first movie through a window but he plays no other role.

‘The Red Rolls Royce’ opens with a red Rolls Royce convertible arriving at a country home with Lord and Lady Wentworth in the back seat.  Lord & Lady Wentworth exit the car and His Lordship is very unhappy with his chauffeur's driving.  He tells his wife to deal with the problem and that he will speak to her later.  Lady Wentworth tells the chauffeur to take her skirt off (in the driveway).  She then tells Mathews to get into the house and she gives her a couple of slaps on the bottom to hurry her along.  Inside, she takes the chauffeur over her knee and gives her a hand spanking.  A face can be seen at the window part way through the spanking; this proves to be the gardener.  Lady Wentworth waves him away but he continues to watch.  After about 3 minutes Lady Wentworth tells Mathews to bring a stool which, conveniently, has a strap stored beneath the seat.  Then Mathews kneels on the stool and about two dozen firm strokes follow.  Next, Mathews bends over the stool for another 33 strokes follow.  The gardener is watching throughout and Mathews’ glasses disappear at some point during the strapping.

Lady Wentworth leaves for a moment at about the 12-minute mark of the movie and she returns with a cane.  Mathews remains bent over the stool and she receives about 3 dozen sharp strokes of the cane.  At some point Lord Mathews arrives and he walks in to watch the final part of the caning.  Lady Wentworth sends Mathews off to her room at the 19-minute mark of the movie but the gardener intercepts her as she walks down the hall and he pulls her outside.

Lady Wentworth asks her husband if the punishment was adequate and he replies that it wasn’t.  When she asks what was wrong, he says it would be easier to demonstrate and he takes the cane from her.  He sits down on the couch and tells her to lift her skirt and get across his knee.  Her hand spanking lasts about 4 minutes (with a few short interruptions) and then its Lady Wentworth’s turn to kneel on the stool for the strap.  Fifteen strokes follow then he has her stand and bend over for 12 more strokes.  The cane is next.  He delivers two strokes with her bent over the stool and then he stops to rearrange the furniture so she can bend over to touch the floor.  Six more strokes then he has her move so she can lean on the couch.  Three strokes, stand again, then bend over again.  Three more strokes, then stand again.  Hands on the floor again, this time with her legs apart.  Eight strokes and stand again.  Back leaning on the sofa.  Six more strokes then stand again … this is how you stretch a 5 minutes scene out to 10 minutes.  Back over the couch, one stroke and stand again.  A little final dialogue and the movie ends without ever telling us what happened between Miss Mathews and the gardener.

There are minor problems with lighting and sound throughout this movie but the big problem is the story itself.  I couldn’t help thinking if the lyrics of an old song by Herman’s Hermits, ‘second verse, same as the first’.  It is one story told twice.  Both are worth seeing but they are too much alike and I didn’t need to see the same thing twice in one movie.

‘Red Rolls Royce 2’ was made two years later.  Lord Wentworth is back, or maybe it’s his son because this actor is obviously younger.  The Red Rolls Royce is back although the license plate is different so it probably isn’t the same car.  Lady Wentworth and Miss Mathews are gone.  I’m not sure if it is the same house because this movie is set entirely outdoors but the driveway and patio look similar.

The movie opens with James and Tara driving up to the house after a business lunch.  They are arguing as they arrive.  She gets out of the car but he tells her to stay where she is.  He tells her to get over the bonnet of the car and he lifts her skirt and starts to spank her.  About 4 minutes into the lengthy spanking, we see the maid, Prudence, standing in the door watching them.  Finally, after close to 6 minutes, Prudence comes running out to tell James that the manager of the restaurant is on the phone. He talks to the manager and, when he finishes, he asks Prudence to bring him the punishment strap.  Prudence looks very smug and self-satisfied as she leaves to get the strap.

While Prudence is away, James takes Tara around to the back of the car where he just happens to find a wooden paddle.  He takes her over his knee and paddles her until Prudence returns with the strap.  He takes the strap and he invites Prudence to stay and watch while he has Tara bend over the trunk of the car.  Tara complains about a servant watching while she is being strapped but her husband isn’t concerned.  Almost sixty strokes follow.  James then decides that she should spend the rest of the weekend working as a maid so she can learn how the other half live.  She objects and he threatens her with another couple of dozen then she runs into the house.  This segment ends just after the 13-minute mark of the movie.

After a blackout it’s the next day and Prudence and Tara, both dressed in maid’s uniforms, are dusting the patio furniture.  In less than a minute Prudence is over Tara’s knee for a hand spanking.  Tara makes it clear that this results from Prudence’s smirking while watching her punishment the previous day.  There are a few problems with the sound during this scene and a particularly noisy flock of geese contribute to the problem.  There are also some editing issues and at one cut (just before the 17-minute mark) Prudence suddenly jumps from bending over the patio table to being back across Tara’s knee then, at the next cut, she is back over the table.  The hand spanking continues for about 5 minutes before Tara walks away.

Tara returns with the strap and she asks Prudence if she remembers it.  She asks Prudence why she didn’t bring the little one the day before and Prudence replies that there wasn’t a little one.  Tara asks her if she knows how much the large strap hurts and she proceeds to demonstrate.  The strapping continues in several different position but finally Prudence has had enough and she jumps up calling Tara a nasty bitch.  This only leads to more.  After a lengthy strapping Tara leaves Prudence bent over the table while she exits again.

Tara returns with a cane and she sends Prudence to bring a bar stool from the house.  Tara tells Prudence to bend over the stool but Prudence objects because Tara hadn’t been caned the day before.  Of course, this doesn’t matter and Tara gives her two dozen firm strokes administered at a leisurely pace with frequent interruptions.  The shadows of cast members are noticeable throughout this scene and they occasionally move which draws attention to them.  Finally, at about the 35-minute mark, James comes out of the house to find out what all the noise is about.

James sends Prudence to fetch the thick cane from his study and he tells Tara to bend over the stool.  She refuses briefly but soon submits.  James gives her a hand spanking while he waits for Prudence to return.  She arrives, but not with the cane he wants so he sends her back into the house and the hand spanking continues.  Prudence finally returns with the proper cane and Tara’s caning begins.  He gives her six hard strokes then he tells her to stand and take off her panties.  Nine more strokes, he tells her to stand and he calls Prudence to take Tara’s dress off her.  Back over the stool and her caning continues.  She complains throughout and one remark leads to three quick hard strokes.  Eventually he has her stand then bend over and touch her toes for a final 8 strokes.  This brings the total to 40.

He tells Tara to stand and calls Prudence over.  He has the two women apologize to each other but then he decides that Prudence requires a few more strokes of the cane.  He has her bend over the stool and he gives her twenty strokes, harder than the one she had received from Tara, then he tells her to put the stool away.  He walks away and the movie ends.

There is a lot to like in this movie but for some reason it just doesn’t completely work.  It may be a little too long throughout, every scene could have been just a little tighter, and I think the movie missed its ending which should have been after Tara’s caning; that would have shortened it by about 4 minutes.  The technical work is generally good but there are the usual problems that arise from filming outdoors with natural light.  ‘The Red Rolls Royce’ and ‘Red Rolls Royce 2’ really don’t have much to do with each other and I think the idea of making a sequel to the original would have worked better if there had been more carry over between the casts.
