‘The Hairdresser’ (Cavern on-line catalogue number 23A) and ‘Clean
Sweep’ (Cavern on-line catalogue number 28A) are two movies with a very
confusing history. My first exposure to
the confusion came from a listing on the Bottommarks website (www.bottommarks.com) where the description
for the movie ‘C.P. Admin.’ (K10790) starts with “The first 26 minutes of this
video (The Hairdresser) is just a shorter version of the full 40 minute iShare
discipline video K-10397 entitled A Clean Sweep …”. Unfortunately, that’s not correct, the two
movies are set in the same location and they may have been filmed at the same
time but they are two different movies.
The confusion continues when CalStar (as they often did) renamed ‘The Hairdresser’
as ‘Spanked Hairdresser’. The two movies
were called ‘Spanked Hairdresser’ and ‘The Lazy Hairdresser’ when a number of
Cavern movies were repackaged into the Moonglow North Compendium tapes after 1997. ‘Clean Sweep’ was omitted from the Moonglow
North Compendiums when the VHS tapes were rearranged during their transfer to
DVD. This is all too confusing so I will
just use the original Cavern names for simplicity.
‘The Hairdresser’ has its moments, most of then during the
final caning, but it isn’t a great movie.
It drags in the first 10 minutes and the early punishments are unremarkable. There are also problems with the camera
position during the strapping, which results in the owner standing between the
camera and Rita, but they make much better use of the mirror in the final
scenes.
‘Clean Sweep’ is set in the same hair salon and features the
same owner, ‘Mr. Jones’, but a different stylist. The stylist is lounging on the couch when the
owner comes in and starts complaining about the mess. He gives her a slap on the bottom when she finally
stands and bends over to pick up a few items and then he pulls her over he knee
and begins spanking her (this movie doesn’t have a long opening scene like the
one in ‘The Hairdresser’). But, this
spanking, like the one in the previous movie, isn’t terribly effective so he
soon decides to call for help.
There is a brief interlude, during which time her pinafore comes off, then
he has her bend over the back of a chair and he moves on to a wooden spoon. A few strokes of the spoon produce a strong response from her, and some very pronounced marks on her bottom. Then it’s on to the cane for 5 firm strokes. This movie follows a different trajectory than most in that
the cane isn’t the end of the punishment.
The final 15 minutes are a mixture of straps, paddles and canes in a
variety of different positions. Her demeanor
changes noticeably through this final session and her insolent comments
largely, but don’t completely disappear.
The session ends with her standing on the couch and holding onto a coat
rack for a few final smacks with both the leather paddle and the cane.
I like ‘Clean Sweep’ much more than its prequel although it does start to drag a bit toward the end. Lorrayne, who I liked as the Secretary in 'Penalty Strokes 2' also plays
the stylist here and it is her insolence and her reactions that make the movie for me. There are a few technical problems, including
the camera operators’ hand in the frame at one point, but they aren’t too bad. My one regret is that the stylist is never
naked at any point in her punishment but it seems as though nudity is less
common in Cavern movies then it is in movies from some other producers.
